COVID-19 has made it very difficult for many students. Brightminds Online School is pleased to announce that we will be conducting virtual classes for students from K-12. These virtual classes will focus on a variety of subjects (language, science, math, and French) to not only help students enrich their knowledge and skills, but also give them a platform to interact with their peers to regain the sense of community.
Students will get weekly goals and tips to reflect on their strengths and weaknesses to become a well-rounded student.
These virtual classes will be conducted by our OCT teachers, where they have designed the program with fun activities and motivational strategies allowing students the opportunities to build confidence in their learning. The activities are geared towards students building habits and mindsets for learning, and participate during these virtual classes, preparing for success in their regular school’s class.
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
This interactive live session covers numerous life skills, such as literacy art and creativity, coding, and math. The bootcamp is designed for K to Grade 8.
Live sessions include reading together, speaking aloud, and in-class poll questions. At the end of each session, teachers will assign extended learning materials to help kids dig out more potential and enrich the student’s understanding.
The daily session lasts 6 hours every weekdays, from 10am to 4pm. Kids will learn strategies on how to pronounce words and sentences by reading books, develop critical thinking and STEM skills by coding along and exploring how to use mathematical concepts in the real world by lively and interesting experiments.
The Live Virtual Summer Bootcamps will start on July 5th.

A+ STEM Program for Kids
STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. These live sessions are designed for Grade 4 to Grade 8 who are interested in developing their skills in STEM. Our A+ STEM program is focused on enriching student’s lab skills and applying the fundamentals of STEM.
This course is conducted weekly from May 6, 2021 where each session lasts 45 minutes.
The weekly session starts 12pm (EST) every Thursday. Kids will learn how to conduct labs, improve their creativity, and apply critical analysis to real world applications.

Read & Write with Me!
A step-by-step guide to help kids choose their own books and read independently. The live sessions are designed for Grade 3 to Grade 6. Kids will learn how to write letters, journals, and create graphic organizers based on the text read in class.
Our classes will be conducted on a weekly basis where each class is 45 minutes in length.

HIGH SCHOOL
Writing Workshop
This workshop is designed for Grade 7 to Grade 12.
Students will be covering MLA/APA format, how to write essays, developing strong thesis, embedded citation, implementing literary devices in their writing, and how to write various types of text.
Each weekly session lasts 45 minutes.

Application of Mathematics
This is a 3-week free trial program for grade 9 and 10 students to engage in the basic knowledge of high school math. The trial program is a 30 minute session each week, giving students the basic foundation. Students are able to register for 45-minute live sessions going more in-depth with the topics.

- Word problem questions
- Introduction to trigonometry
