What LIVE Workshops Do We Offer?
BrightMinds workshops are run by passionate and knowledgeable teachers! These LIVE sessions are well-loved by our students as get to spend quality time with teachers and other students while expanding their horizons.
In this early reading class, students will explore different English phonics sounds through songs, games and activities.
Goals of program:
• Help children to succeed to early reading.
• Get kids eager to read!
Grade:
• K to G2
The live sessions are designed for Grade 1 to Grade 5. Kids will read a short story in class and learn how to write letters, journals, and create graphic organizers based on the text read in class.
Goals of program:
• Help students to develop strong reading, writing and research skills so that they can succeed in school.
• Provide tools for students to become more proficient in decoding and recognizing words.
Grade:
• G1 to G5
STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. These live sessions are designed for Grade 4 to Grade 8 who are interested in developing their skills in STEM.
Goals of program:
• Provide opportunities for students to search for different ways of solving problems.
• Nurture students’ critical thinking and curiosity about the natural world.
Grade:
• G4 to G8
In this essay writing workshop, teen students will review/practice the basics of MLA style and essay writing. We will work on essay structures, citations, forming paragraphs, and general skills.
Goals of program:
• Help students apply practical strategies to ace their essays.
• Get students to become confident writers.
Grade:
• G7 to G12
This workshop will teach some of the most fundamental concepts from the math curriculum to help students lay a strong foundation for their next school years and a lifetime of mathematical thinking. Students will learn and practice math concepts through a combination of worksheets and hands-on activities.
Goals of program:
• Help students to improve their performance in mathematics.
• Expose students to real-life applications of mathematics.

• G8 to G9

Academic After School Program
Our Academic After School Program provides students to improve on their English, science, and mathematics skills. Our teachers have set a well designed program to help kids in junior kindergarten to grade 3 develop their skills with a wide variety of teaching strategies.
Creative After School Program
Our Creative After School Program focuses on the students’ creativity to improve their drawing and singing. Students will be making crafts using different principles of arts and get the chance to display their vocal ranges in modern songs.
Cantonese After School Program
Students love the Cantonese After School Program as they are able to improve their conversational skills, developed from storytelling, singing, and learning simple writing skills. This is great for beginners and those who want to preserve the language.
Fun French Fridays
Fun French Fridays is a class targeted to students who have recently been learning French and want to improve their overall conversational skills. There are group activities and singing to build students’ confidence and encourage them to continue learning French.
Piano Class for Kids
Our Piano Class for Kids is a group session with a ratio of 3 students to 1 teacher. Students will learn the fundamentals of music theory, basic piano techniques, and tips on how to hound their piano skills.
Yes, we have extended care available during our summer classes for $10/day.
There are 3 groups in our school:
Group 1: 2 years old – 4 years old
Group 2: 4 years old – 8 years old
Group 3: 8 years old – 12 years old
Here at Brightminds, we have small classroom sizes ranging from 5 – 7 students/ class.
Yes, our group trail class for free! (expect piano)
For our one-on-one tutoring session, you can pay for the first session only.
There are extracurricular activities available for kids, your child can join the creative class, piano class, or the french class.
We do not offer any physical activity classes.
Students who are enrolled in our credit courses will be getting the official Ontario report card.
Our teachers are friendly, enthusiastic, and passionate about teaching and working with little kids, with an ECE, OCT, and numerous years of experience.
Yes, the first group classes. (except for the piano class)
