Science and Technology

Science is a way of knowing that seeks to describe and explain the natural and physical world. Technology is also a way of knowing, and is also a process of exploration and experimentation. Science and technology are closely linked, especially through the skills of scientific inquiry, technological problem solving, and communication. The activities offered in this course enable students to relate and apply inquiry skills, problem-solving skills, critical and creative thinking skills, and communication skills concepts to the social, environmental, and economic conditions and concerns of the world in which they live. At BrightMinds, the science and technology curriculum expectations are organized in four strands:

  • Understanding Life Systems
  • Understanding Structures and Mechanisms
  • Understanding Matter and Energy
  • Understanding Earth and Space Systems
