Supporting our Students
We believe that parents, guardians, and/or the guidance of your home school are part of the support network a student needs inorder to enhance their education. Thus we encourage parents/guardians to be improved in our students e-learning experience. Parents/guardians have the access to see what the teacher is teaching and how well the student is doing. Parents can check their child’s progress report which updated by the teacher every month. Our OCT certified teachers are there to help make this e-learning experience go as smoothly as possible and are available to answer any of your questions within 24 hours.
Live Session with the Teacher
Both students and parents can request to schedule a live session with the teacher (maximum 3 times a term) to discuss the course, set goals, discuss strategies for improvement, etc.
Throughout the term, students will receive feedback on their work. The feedback are designed to help students understand what they did well in, where to improve, and how to do better for the next assessments. There are three types of assessments: assessment AS learning, assessment FOR learning and assessment OF learning. Assessment AS learning, is targeted towards students understanding what their strengths and weaknesses are. Assessment FOR learning is when the teacher gives feedback for the students outlining where they did well and where they need to improve (not counted towards their grade). Assessment OF learning, are the only assessments that count towards the student’s mark.
Attendance plays a huge part in the success of the student in the course. Students are encouraged to log in to the course at least once a week, however chronic absenteeism may lead to withdrawal of the course. Students are encouraged to reach out if they have any concerns about their attendance.
